How Argentine my tango is

“While it is a dance of the people and for the people, it has a level of difficulty that must be reckoned with. There is a structure of the dance from whence improvisation is created. There is a learning curve and a developmental curve that comes from putting in hours that lead to weeks that lead to years of taking classes and dancing socially.” - http://elfirulete.wordpress.com/2011/11/14/the-bearded-woman-is-the-only-one-missing/

Tango is infinite, absolute and universal pleasure that a few seconds of it last a week or a year or the rest of your life. The best of it is, it’s a fair game. Yes, it takes a lot of effort and heart.  It’s not for someone who wants to bet small for the biggest return.  It’s for someone who is willing to take walking and listening seriously. For someone who believes they are a better person when they are in music, in art and with another human being. For someone who has a heart as big as his ego, so he can let go of his ego once in a while and trust his heart leads his way best. For someone who feels the need to take his every step with a balance of clear mind and emotions. For someone who loves strongly enough his body and the others’ to not sit down but to live his life through it. For someone who knows perfectly the fact that no one will die without dancing but still dances because what makes our life meaningful and livable survives physical death. For someone who still endears truth despite it says everything contrary to what he has always believed in. Yes, to be a genuine tango dancer is to be a decent human being.  They are flawed and would never be perfect. But they try. Somestimes trying is good enough, trying is the entire idea of it.
